Belgian post-metal sensation Psychonaut was formed in 2011. Their music blends psychedelic, progressive, and sludge metal elements, drawing inspiration from the 1970s (Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd) as well as more modern acts like Tool and Amenra. The band gained recognition for their dynamic compositions, which combine heavy riffs, polyrhythmic structures, and profound philosophical lyrics. In 2018, they released their debut album Unfold the God Man, which received critical acclaim and led to a signing with the German label Pelagic Records. This was followed by Violate Consensus Reality (2022), hailed as one of the best metal albums of the year.
In October 2025, the band will release their third studio album, World Maker, which continues their signature sound and thematic approach. The new material focuses on personal topics such as fatherhood, grief, and hope, while maintaining their trademark combination of intense music and deep lyrics, solidifying Psychonaut’s position as one of the most compelling bands on the contemporary Belgian metal scene.
