PROTECTOR

Country: Germany
Genre: THRASH / DEATH METAL

PROTECTOR was founded in the summer of 1986 in Wolfsburg, Germany by Michael Hasse, Hansi Müller and Michael Schnabel. The same year the band recorded and released their first demo. In the autumn of 1987 the band, now with Martin Missy and Ede Belichmeier (who replaced Michael Schnabel) in the line-up, released the EP "Misanthropy". On February 26, 1994, almost seven years, one EP, four LPs, four tours and several line-up changes after the release of "Misanthropy", Protector played their last show (in Wolfsburg) with the line-up of Olly Wiebel, Matze Grün and Marco Pape. The band recorded one demo in 1999 and in the years following their third joint performance in 2001, the band gradually broke up. In 2006, the Protector tribute band "Martin Missy and The Protectors" was formed in Sweden, consisting of Martin Missy, Carl-Gustav Karlsson, Mathias Johansson and Michael Carlsson. Between 2006 and 2011 they played twenty-four concerts together. In October 2011, "Martin Missy and The Protectors" announced that they would officially continue under the name Protector. Since then the band has released 4 full-length albums, the last one in 2022 titled "Excessive Outburst of Depravity".
