American sludge/doom icon Kylesa is returning to stages around the world! The five-piece from Savannah, Georgia, was formed in 2001 by former members of the band Damad, Phillip Cope and Laura Pleasants. Their music is defined by dense, down-tuned guitar riffs, heavy rhythms enhanced by two drummers on one stage, alternating male and female vocals, and a strong psychedelic element. Over time, the band evolved from their raw sludge/hardcore beginnings toward a stoner rock sound enriched with elements of doom metal, atmospheric passages, and melodic moments.
After releasing their seventh album, Exhausting Fire, in 2015, Kylesa announced a hiatus that seemed like the end of the road. However, in August 2024, the band revealed that they would return in 2025 with a series of concerts celebrating their 25th anniversary. Fans at Brutal Assault 2026 will also get to experience their unique blend of aggression and psychedelia — and we’re certain it will be a comeback to remember!
