Mexican hellfire in electronic form. Hardened by the rough streets of Mexico City, cousins Erk Aicrag and Racso Agroyam formed Hocico in 1993, a project that fundamentally defined the rules of aggrotech and dark electro over the following decades. Their sound is like a soundtrack to a dystopian nightmare—pulsating industrial beats colliding with brutally distorted vocals and aggressive synth lines.
While their 1997 debut Odio Bajo el Alma shocked the underground scene with its sheer rawness, breakthrough records like Signos de Aberración and Wrack and Ruin turned them into a global phenomenon in the realm of dark electronics. Hocico’s music uncompromisingly reflects violence and social decay, which is perfectly mirrored in their unstoppable, frenetic live energy.
Even though they operate outside the traditional guitar-driven boundaries, their aggression and misanthropic atmosphere resonate flawlessly with extreme metal fans. This will be a ruthless sonic assault that will test the foundations of the Josefov walls.
