GUTRECTOMY

First time at BA

Country: Germany
Genre: SLAM DEATH METAL / BRUTAL DEATHCORE / SLAMDOWN

When German slammers Gutrectomy coined the term "slamdown" for their style, they knew exactly what they were doing. This powerhouse quartet from Baden-Württemberg isn't interested in academic extreme metal theory; they care about pure kinetic energy in the pit. Evolving from the raw, filthy slamming death metal of their early releases like Slamageddon and Slampocalypse, they gradually refined a punishing hybrid. It takes the disciplined aggressiveness of slam riffs, blends it with the heavyweight stomp of beatdown hardcore, and wraps it in the technical precision of modern deathcore.

The key to their sound is an absolute lack of fluff. Gutrectomy don't waste time on pointless solos; their arsenal consists of crushing down-tuned riffs, uncompromising blast beats cut short by bone-shattering breakdowns, and the animalistic vocal range of Dennis Schuler, who effortlessly shifts from gut-wrenching pig squeals and deep growls to aggressive hardcore barks. Their album Manifestation of Human Suffering demonstrated a mature grasp of dynamics and wall-of-sound production without losing their tongue-in-cheek attitude (track titles like "Diarrhea Diving Club" or "Apocalyptic Squirt Tsunami" speak for themselves). Live, they are an absolute steamroller where genre boundaries dissolve into one giant, chaotic wave of moshers.
