Eivør Pálsdóttir, known primarily by her stage name Eivør, is a Faroese singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist whose work spans folk, ambient, electronic, and traditional Nordic music. Born in 1983 on the Faroe Islands, she grew up surrounded by the islands’ rugged landscapes and rich folk culture — influences that have left a deep imprint on her artistry. Eivør is renowned for her distinctive, emotive voice, capable of shifting from delicate tenderness to raw intensity, and she often experiments with vocal techniques reminiscent of traditional Nordic kulning or throat singing. Her music creates hypnotic, dreamlike soundscapes in which the past and present intertwine seamlessly.

Throughout her career, Eivør has released a series of albums that reflect her continuous artistic evolution — from early folk recordings to electronically infused works such as Slør and Segl. A major milestone in her international breakthrough was her contributions to the soundtracks for the God of War video game series and the TV series The Last Kingdom, where her voice and compositions perfectly captured the dark, mystical atmosphere of the early medieval period. Eivør has thus become one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary Nordic music — an artist who can merge archaic motifs with modern production and transport listeners to a world where nature, spirituality, and human emotion converge into a unified whole.
