Blush Response is a project by Joey Gonzalez, a Cuban-American music and sound experimentalist, who was born in Miami and is now based in Berlin. He will perform a live set on the KAL stage, using music hardware to create a sonically powerful and intense experience. He frequently performs at clubs such as Berghain, Tresor, and Khidi, drawing on his experience as a solo artist, a member of the band Scar the Martyr (founded by Joey Jordison), and his time with the legendary industrial group Front Line Assembly. Gonzalez is an experienced sound designer who has designed and programmed instruments for brands such as Nord, Elektron, Yamaha, and Arturia; contributed to recordings by artists including Fear Factory and Cristian Castro; and collaborated with figures such as Richard Devine, Black Asteroid, Rhys Fulber, and Bon Harris of Nitzer Ebb. Blush Response musically oscillates at the very edge of the possibilities of sound, feedback, and mechanical force, producing uncompromising industrial techno released on labels such as Artoffact Records, Aufnahme + Wiedergabe, Ant-Zen, Sonic Groove, and his own label, MEGASTRUCTURE.
