Norwegian trio Witch Club Satan emerged in early 2022 as an all-female black metal act that grew out of a theater and performance-art background, transforming those roots into an extreme musical form. Their sound combines blast beats, harsh guitar riffs, and intense vocals, intertwined with themes inspired by the witch trials in Norway and the broader female history of resistance.
Musically and thematically, Witch Club Satan distinguish themselves by using black metal as a vehicle to explore contemporary social issues — such as feminism, the environmental crisis, and the conflict in the Middle East — while maintaining the raw aesthetic and aggression of the genre. Their live performances are strikingly visual: blood, nudity, and ritualistic staging form an integral part of shows meant not only to entertain but also to shock and provoke reflection. Despite being a relatively new project, Witch Club Satan have already built a reputation as one of the most compelling new forces*on the modern black metal scene, both in Norway and abroad.
