PARADISE LOST the flame of English gothic doom formed in 1988 in Halifax (West Yorkshire), the band is not only known as one of the most distinctive metal bands when their music defined the gothic subgenre and took doom metal to a new level, but they are also considered pioneers of an entire generation of music.

With the exception of a change at the drummer position, the stable quartet of Holmes, Mackintosh, Aedy and Edmondson never stopped following their own vision, yet PARADISE LOST never in over 30 years hesitated to explore undiscovered paths and have traversed many genres throughout their career: From death metal beginnings to the more mainstream electronic darkpop of "Host", the electronic influences of "Symbol Of Life" to a somber return to the majestic gothic moments of their early days.
