Death metal veterans OBITUARY from Tampa, Florida are a band whose origins go back to the earliest days of the genre. It's safe to say that for nearly 40 years OBITUARY has sacrificed themselves for death metal as one of the genre's most influential bands. However, three of the original founding members (drummer Donald Tardy, vocalist John Tardy and guitarist Trevor Peres) have been on board since 1984, when they were still called XECUTIONER for two years. Early albums like Slowly We Rot (1989) and Cause of Death (1990) epitomize the playbook and springboard that brought countless bands to life over the decades.
