WHITECHAPEL

Country: United States
Genre: DEATHCORE / PROGRESSIVE METAL

WHITECHAPEL with their records and how far they have come over the years is awe-inspiring. Named after the East London borough where Jack the Ripper committed a series of legendary and largely unsolved murders, the band are one of deathcore's key performers.

Fronted by Phil Bozeman, the sextet has released eight albums. All of them are characterized by a high technical level of instrumental skill and sound production, which allows them with three guitars in the band to create not only unique and impressive songs like those from the still current album "Kin" (2021), but also those with atmospheric passages embedded in the brutal heavy sound that go far beyond where deathcore goes.

Nowadays WHITECHAPEL is actually more of a metal band that uses the principles of deathcore. But maybe it also rewrites them by a confident evolution. For their last two albums are characterized by dynamic and diverse heavy music full of alternative positions, groovy riffs and rhythms and progressive ideas in addition to Bozman's full growl complemented by his weaving emotional vocals. Kin is a true milestone and sets new standards for the genre.
