Vader is a Polish death metal band formed in 1983 in Olsztyn, recognized as pioneers of extreme metal in Central and Eastern Europe. From the very beginning, the band has been led by guitarist and vocalist Piotr “Peter” Wiwczarek, who remains the creative force behind Vader to this day. Their debut album The Ultimate Incantation (1992) was a breakthrough not only for the band but for the entire Polish scene, proving that they could stand alongside the global death metal elite. Also, Vader was the first Polish metal band to sign with a major international label (Earache Records). Follow-up albums such as Litany (2000) and Welcome to the Morbid Reich (2011) reaffirmed their uncompromising approach to death metal, rooted in speed, precision, and relentless aggression. Vader are also renowned for their tireless touring activity, which has earned them a loyal worldwide following. Even after more than four decades, they remain a symbol of strength, persistence, and dedication to the genre.
