First time at BA
SHOW ME THE BODY (SMTB), originating in New York City in 2009, embarked on a journey that has seen them evolve into a unique force in the music scene. After the independent release of "Yellow Kidney" in 2015 and the "SMTB" EP via Letter Racer Collective, the band signed with Loma Vista, unleashing their debut album "Body War" in 2016. The ensuing tours across the US and Europe marked the beginning of their impactful presence.
In 2017, SMTB initiated the Corpus project, a collaborative mixtape featuring a diverse range of artists, reflecting the band's commitment to community-building. The same year witnessed the release of the two-song EP "Challenge Coin," recorded at Electric Lady Land. SMTB continued their prolific output, producing and releasing projects for Dreamcrusher, Tripp Jones, and Dog Breath through Corpus.
2019 marked the arrival of their sophomore album, "Dog Whistle," produced by Chris Coady, Show Me The Body, and Gabriel Millman. Written in Long Island City, Queens, and recorded in Los Angeles, the album showcased the band's dynamic approach to punk rock, seamlessly blending alternative hip hop, sludge metal, and noise music.
SMTB's abrasive and innovative musical identity contiunes also on their last album "Trouble The Water" (2022).
