SATYRICON returns to the fortress after 8 years!

The Norwegian black metal stalwarts formed in Oslo in 1991 and almost immediately after the release of their first albums, they became one of the leading bands in the rising Norwegian black metal scene for their distinctive approach.

Indeed, lead singer-songwriter Satyr and his right-hand man drummer Frost embarked on a path of constant evolution and disregard for basic principles in their artistic approach, so after perfecting second wave black metal with early albums like Dark Medieval Times and The Shadowthrone, in 1996 they released the now iconic and widely acclaimed Nemesis Divina - one of the classic black metal albums of the 90s and the springboard for everything that followed in their discography.
Unbound by all principles, they went on to release the brutal and industrial-tinged Rebel Extravaganza, or Now, Diabolical and The Age Of Nero records, where they redefined the entire black metal sound once again.

And as SATYRICON forge their own unique path to the previously unexpressed, plumbing the dark spiritual depths of 21st century humanity, we're extremely curious to see what they'll come up with on their new album, scheduled for May 2024, and what they'll include in their setlist at the fortress.
