PIG DESTROYER

Country: United States
Genre: GRINDCORE / EAST COAST GRINDCORE / GRIND-DEATH

PIG DESTROYER, one of themost energetic grindcore bands was formed in the late '90s, gained prominence with their noisy and unhinged take on grindcore elements. Initially playing without a bassist, they were active in D.I.Y. punk circles, touring and releasing splits with bands like Orchid, Converge, and Isis. Signing with Relapse Records in 2000, their 2001 album "Prowler in the Yard" marked a high point in focus and intensity. Over the years, lineup changes and shifts in style led them from grindcore to doomier sludge, with releases like "Natasha" (2008) and "Mass & Volume" (2014). The band, formed by John Evans, Scott Hull, and J.R. Hayes, maintains an anti-authoritarian stance in their music. Despite evolving over two decades, PIG DESTRYER continues to push boundaries, embracing elements of noise, sludge metal, hardcore, and experimental collage. Their sixth album, "Head Cage," released in 2018, showcased their unrelenting energy even after two decades in the industry.
