PESTILENCE are one of the most important European death metal bands. Their origins date back to the incredible year 1986, when they immediately caught the attention with their distinctive signature and instrumental skills, and soon became one of the most distinctive and respected death metal bands in the world. This is still true today.

There's probably not even much point in picking out any moments in their long history, so let's mention the gems of their discography: Malleus Maleficarum (1988), Consuming Impulse (1989), Testimony of the Ancients (1991) and Spheres (1993).

PESTILENCE's progressive direction after their second album and the adding of their music with a more melodic component got the masses of fans on the band's side, until in the 90s they became probably the most important death metal band in Europe thanks to the monumental "Testimony of the Ancients". With the world at their feet, the end came after the album "Spheres" due to a misunderstanding of their musical visionary, when death metal futuristically fused with jazz.

But PESTILENCE did not say the last word, and in the summer of 2009, a reunion took place, which has already brought five albums: Resurrection Macabre, Doctrine, Obsideo, Hadeon and the last one so far, Exitivm, which is the culmination of everything PESTILENCE have gone through in their career. It has the crushing riffs, the deadly tempo and the unique distinctive signature that Patrick Mameli has held for the fourth decade. Now they are enticing fans with the announcement of their upcoming tenth studio album.
