NIGHT VERSES, an instrumental trio from Southern California, is known for their unorthodox and cinematic approach to music. Their songs are steeped in surrealism and draw from genres as diverse as art rock, post-metal, prog, trip hop and psychedelia. Described by Noisey's Daniel G. Wilson as a "Prog-Metal Salvador Dalí," the band, consisting of Nick DePirro (guitar), Reilly Herrera (bass) and Aric Improta (drums), strive for an expansive sound, employing unconventional techniques such as the use of effects pedals on acoustic drums and live looping to create the feel of a larger ensemble without resorting to backing tracks. NIGHT VERSES also take a DIY approach to their visuals, including merch, album artwork and live projections, contributing to a project that is distinctive and visually aligned with their music. After more than five years, they have also released the first part of their anticipated double album entitled "Every Sound Has a Color In The Valley Of Night". Thus, their surreal musical verse is definitely one of the acts you shouldn't miss at Brutal.
