MINISTRY

Country: United States
Genre: INDUSTRIAL METAL

MINISTRY was born in 1981 in Chicago and is the lifelong project of founder Al Jourgensen, who is considered a pioneer of industrial music. In its early days, Ministry was recognizable for its heavy synth-pop material in line with the new sounds and technologies that were developing in the 1980s. As time progressed, however, so did Ministry's sound, who quickly developed a grittier and more stylized sound that the band soon became known for on the seminal albums "Twitch" (1986), "The Land of Rape and Honey" (1988) and "The Mind Is A Terrible Thing To Taste" (1989). With the release of "Psalm 69: The Way to Succeed" and "The Way to Suck Eggs" (1992), MINISTRY rose to the top of the music mainstream and received their first Grammy nomination. In total, MINISTRY has been nominated for six Grammy Awards.

Eight more albums followed before taking an indefinite hiatus in 2013, only to resurface with "AmeriKKKant" in 2018 and "Moral Hygiene" in 2021. MINISTRY continues to tour and make music - and they're bringing their latest album, "HOPIUMFORTHEMASSES", to the Fortress!
