GOD IS AN ASTRONAUT

Country: Ireland
Genre: SPACE ROCK, POST-ROCK, INSTRUMENTAL, AMBIENT

For over 20 years, Irish four-piece GOD IS AN ASTRONAUT have been one of the most well-known instrumental bands that have constantly experimented with their sound, and one of the bands that have been among the biggest popularizers of post-rock.

The now famous GIAA acronym was founded in 2002 by brothers Niels and Torsten Kinsella. Since their inception, the trio, accompanied by drummer Lloyd Hanney, has been drawing listeners into colourful worlds, indefinable in form and shape, where no rules work except your own imagination. It is stimulated by GOD IS AN ASTRONAUT's gradually constructed soundscapes, which float with ease on a wide layer of emotions in a palette of endless atmospheres.

With the release of their tenth studio album "Ghost Tapes #10", are GIAA on a top? We feel so. The album revives their classic lineup with Jamie Dean as pianist and guitarist, and rather than continuing where the quartet left off together in 2018, it explores a different approach with an emphasis on movement and intensity. And so "Ghost Tapes #10" is definitely their wildest effort, which still retains all the rich musical and emotional elements for which GIAA are known.
