Coming from the raw, cold forests of Norway, DARVAZA are fronted by the demonic frontman Wraath, who has a range of important bands for black metal behind him: Mare, One Tail One Head, Behexen, Dark Sonority and many more.

Inspired by a crater in the Turkmen desert known as the "Gates of Hell", where a fire formed in 1971 and which is still burning today, the band's name is an ample representation of their musical essence.

Last year's Ascending Into Perdition, while slightly downplaying the ferocity, brings the band's vision to perfection. However, DARVAZA concerts do not let up on the wildery and are literally purgatory.
