BROKEN HOPE

Country: United States
Genre: DEATH METAL

Chicago death metallers BROKEN HOPE were formed in 1988 by vocalist Joe Ptacek, guitarist Jeremy Wagner and drummer Ryan Stanek. Their early demos soon earned them their first record deal, and by 1991 they had already released their debut album Swamped in Gore.
Two years later, Metal Blade as a new label released Bowels of Repugnance, which was followed every two years by another record, most notably 1997's fantastic Loathing, on which BROKEN HOPE slightly progressed and above all fine-tuned their sound. Three years after its successor, however, they broke up.

Ten years after this break-up, Jeremy Wagner reunites BROKEN HOPE in 2012. This time with a newcomer on vocals, as founding member singer Ptacek had committed suicide in the interim.
A year after the reunion, BROKEN HOPE signed to Century Media, who released their comeback album Omen of Disease after 13 years, after which the final line-up changes were made and BROKEN HOPE are still unchanged. And this line-up released their seventh, excellent and well-reviewed album Mutilated and Assimilated in 2017.
