Shindy said 09/06/2009 14:26

new bands

still some 15 more bands to come

3 of them to be added tomorrow
Marmita said 09/06/2009 06:39

Diversity is fine

But im still hoping for some more Black\Death\Grind\Fun Bands(Enslaved, Kampfar, Shining, 1349, Cannibal Corpse, Carpathian forest, Satyricon, Haemorrhage, Takke, Carcass, and so on and on…).

Having said that - Discharge could be nice.
slut said 08/06/2009 18:44

bands

how many bands will confirm soon? (after todays confirmation with Grave)
Shindy said 06/06/2009 23:13

suffo

we are waiting on the band's final decision. keep your fingers crossed for their YES.
Shindy said 06/06/2009 23:12

godplayer

as for “something-core bands”, well as for me personally I am not a core freak either but it is good to have some -core bands on the bill too. one aspect is that younger crowd is more open to -core stuff and also in the terms music progresson and trends , the -core bands are bringing some fresh blood . so it is good to bring some fresh blood. believe me I would be much happier if there is more fresh stuff in e.g. death metal or doom metal.

but don't worry BA is not gonna turn a -core fest, the metal music will always be the majority of what can be seen and heard on this fest.
godplayer said 05/06/2009 23:08

RE: diversity

You're totally right about the whole diversity thing. What may be shit for me, might be gold for others; and viceversa. I just don't want to see the fest getting overcowded by “core” bands (all grindcore aside, of course), that's all.

What's the news on Suffo?
Shindy said 05/06/2009 11:00

FS

well what I personally hate on prog metal is the vocals (that's why I don't like classic heavy metal maybe). so I'm happy that FS is almost an instrumental music. needless to say that FS is not a prog metal band in the classic terms of prog metal. but let's say Evergrey… well this is not my cup of tea.
Chrisman said 05/06/2009 00:25

@Shindy

“and as for prog metal itself, well those bands are not priority for us”

Well, anyway, thank you so much for Forgotten Silence ! I didn't know the band until a few days ago, and now that I had a through listen, it makes me drop the whole Suicide Silence being canceled thing (kinda). Can't wait for their show.
Schnapz said 04/06/2009 14:51

more polish death metal :)

vader, hate, trauma, zoharia, behemoth etc…

+1 to dying fetus
Ersegoth said 04/06/2009 09:38

Doom

Thanx for your answer!
Shindy said 04/06/2009 09:30

doom

well there is not too many doom metal bands around… we are trying to book some more doom metal bands though.

when it comes to prog and doom - what about Opeth then?

and as for prog metal itself, well those bands are not priority for us
Ersegoth said 04/06/2009 09:03

Balance

I agree, that different styles are good to festival, but the balance is weird this year. Many “core”, only one doom band (Skepticism), no gothic groups. Any plans to book some gothic/doom? And how about progressive metal, Evergrey, for example?
Shindy said 03/06/2009 23:00

diversity

yes diversity is what we focus on. well we don't adore heavy or power metal but as for other metal and HC styles we are quite open minded. love us or hate us for this.

although I personally like both Necro and Suffo very much it would be too boring to watch 60 bdm bands in a row. that's why we put diverse metal and HC bands. I guess there is noone that would like all 60 bands on the bill. so pick what you like. live and let live. I am sure that many younger kids will love the bands you hate. and vice versa. maybe.
krstps said 03/06/2009 14:11

hah

You can always go and grab some beer and chill if a “shitty” band is playing.
Diversity is always appreciated.
godplayer said 03/06/2009 13:32

Those new confirmed bands...

Carnifex, Evergreen Terrace, The Red Chord, War From A Harlots Mouth… Where the fuck do you guys find this kinda shit? You've started this year's lineup confirmation with such a big success. You wanna end it with shit bands, just to fill the bill? That's a sellout (Wacken comes to mind with their 60% manuer bands). Necrophagist left and Suffo are about to, from what I've heard - maybe one of the greatest attractions for this year. Bring some more quality bands like the ones posted above by fellow metalheads or something. Gojira and Mastodon haven't been metioned yet though.

Please don't get me wrong, I'm not just trying to bash or troll. Just giving my honest opinion, my two cents if you will.

Some

Sabbat (UK) - Onslaught did awesome show at the end of the last day in 2007

Infernal War - neverending brutallity

Toxic Holocaust - thrash!

Asphyx - would be simply awesome

Azarath (Pol)

Glorior Belli

Averse Sefira

Watain

et cetera…

Pinhead said 27/04/2009 21:10

BA is much better

Brutal Assault takes only the best usual bands from those festivals (by usual I mean the ones that play many festivals in the same season) and adds exclusive monsters like Brujeria, Anaal Nathrakh, Orphaned Land, Atheist, Negura Bunget and others.
B.A. is just fucking amazing. It's not even comparable to other billings, this year only Hellfest has some competition.
KAOS said 26/04/2009 20:17

yeh well

almost the same line up at party san, might do that myself as well… check unholyfest too. some quality bands there as well.

Too bad though, I saw wanted to attend Brutal Assault \m/
